More wi-fi at Zurich schools

As the Basler Zeitung recently reported, there are plans for a massive expansion of wi-fi stations in Zurich classrooms. By 2017, the number of wi-fi transmitters at schools is to double so that all schools have access to wireless internet. The city of Zurich has approved around CHF 5 million for this project! The planned access points are to be in continuous operation, i.e. they cannot be switched off when not in use.

Wie die Basler Zeitung kürzlich berichtete, ist ein massiver Ausbau der W-lan Sender in den Zürcher Klassenzimmern geplant. Bis 2017 soll sich die Zahl der W-lan Sender an den Schulen verdoppeln, damit alle Schulen Zugriff auf das kabellose Internet haben. Für dieses Projekt hat die Stadt Zürich rund 5 Millionen Franken bewilligt! Die geplanten Acces Points sollen dauernd im Betrieb sein, sind also nicht ausschaltbar bei Nicht-Gebrauch.

Researchers have been arguing about the potential cancer risk of cell phones for years. Consumer advocates see us exposed to an uncontrolled field test with constantly increasing radiation exposure. Research is therefore mostly concerned with finding out whether electromagnetic radiation can cause cancer or not.

Mobile phone radiation damages cells through oxidation process

A research group led by Igor Yakymenko at the Kiev Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology has analyzed 80 studies on oxidative stress caused by microwave radiation. As a result, the scientists consider it proven that mobile phone radiation leads to damaging oxidation processes in cells. This happens due to the overproduction of free radicals under the influence of radiation.

Eine Forschergruppe um Igor Yakymenko am Kiewer Institut für experimentelle Pathologie, Onkologie und Radiobiologie hat 80 Studien zu oxidativem Stress durch Mikrowellenstrahlung genau analysiert. Als Resultat sehen es die Wissenschafter als bewiesen an, dass Mobilfunkstrahlung zu schädigenden Oxidationsprozessen in Zellen führt. Dies passiert durch die Überproduktion von Freien Radikalen unter Strahleneinwirkung.
